Our 2012 Summer Camp was a hit. A room full of campers were treated to a week of jamming and intense learning. Look for this program to come back in 2013!
Our program is more than just getting together to jam. You will also learn the lessons that veterans in the Cleveland rock scene have learned the hard way . . .
- Understand the business side of Rock and Roll
- Learn the technical skills you’ll need to rock out
- Jam with a BAND!
- And much more
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Music Reading and Terminology Sounds like work doesn’t it? There are a few things you must know and you must learn now. We’ll show you how easy it is to communicate with other musicians using a common language.
The 12-Bar Format The foundation for rock music is the blues. Know the progressions and the 5 easy shapes and you can play anything. We’ll teach you the CAGED chord system and have you jamming before the day is through.
Proper Practice Habits The gig is the fun part. The work is when you are alone in your bedroom working out a song. Learn how to make the most out of your practice time. Hint: Playing Sweet Child Of Mine a thousand times is not the answer!
Practicing With A Loop Station Learn how to use the Boss RC-20XL to make you an awesome rhythm AND lead player. No more metronomes!
Learning Songs by Ear Rock guitar players don’t rely on sheet music. Have you ever seen a music stand in front of Slash? They listen to the song and then figure it out. We’ll show you how they do it and do it quickly.
Songwriting 101 Being in a cover band is great. But writing your own cover tunes is even better. Learn the formats of songs and how to make rhymes work.
Getting Great Tone The biggest mystery in life is pedal board design. Learn how the pros do it. What pedals do you need? We’ll take you through them all.
Knowing Rock Instruments OK, you know how to change the strings on your guitar. What if a tube blows on your amp right before a gig - Now what? The drummer is late. You need to set up his drums. You have 8 minutes to get on stage. Help!!
Music Business 101 So you think you want to be a rock star? What does that mean? Learn from the guys who have done it.
Promoting Your Band You’ve worked hard in practice and you want people to hear your music. Now what? A lot of other bands know the tricks. We’ll teach you how to get your music out there.
Band Rehearsal Getting together and rehearsing is what it’s all about. It’s where you create your band’s sound. How do you get everyone on the same page without arguing with each other? You’re going to learn by doing it – all 5 days!
