He was the traffic manager for Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Co. in Spring. field, for 45 years, and retired in 1978. 1. Born in Berlin, N.H., he lived in Aldenville, for 38 years before Robert R.

Quintal moving here 18 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and served in the Ardennes, Central Europe, and Rhineland campaigns in 1944- 45. He received European and Mediterranean theater ribbons, and a Victory Medal. He was a communicant of St. William's Church here.

He was a past commander and life member of Aldenville's American Legion Post 337, and a past commander of American Le: gion District 3. He was instrumental in bringing the first state Legion convention to Chicopee in 1958. He also was chef-de-gare of the city's Voiture 862 of the Fortyand-Eight Post (World War I veterans). Frank R. Funk, 53, of 293 Crescent Drive, Willimansett, Friday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He worked in the shipping and receiving department at Milton Bradley Co. in East Longmeadow, and retired last year. He worked at A.G. Spalding Co.

Margaret C. Pearson GREENFIELD Margaret C. (Wiles) Pearson, 83, formerly of School died Friday in a local nursing home. Born and schooled in South Deerfield, she lived here most of her life. She cared for abandoned cats.

Her husband, George A. Wiles, died in 1988. She leaves two daughters, Betty Rice and Sylvia Jackson of Deerfield; seven grandchildren; 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by another grandson. Born in Alberta, Canada, he lived in Holyoke, and attended the city's Immaculate Conception School. He also spent many years in Alden- Romeo J. Boisselle ville before moving to Fairview in 1980.

He was a communicant of St. Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville, and a member of the Liberty Quoit Club in Holyoke. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Merchant Marine. His wife of 54 years, the former Helen M. Bell, died in October.

John R. O'Kula, 73, of 418 Forest Lake Road, a 40-year machinist for Lunt Silversmiths in Greenfield, died Thursday at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene. He retired in 1983. Born in Montague, he attended local schools, and was a longtime Greenfield resident before moving here 13 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and served with the famed 1st Infantry Division Red in the Allied invasion of North Africa on Nov.

8, 1942. The decedent fought in the French Morocco and Tunisia campaigns, and in the invasion of Sicily on July 10, 1943. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus's Church, and belonged to the 1st Infantry Division Association, Elks Lodge 478 in Keene, and Moose Lodge 92. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Allison (Murley) 0'Kula; two sons, Dennis J.

Lillian H. Jacobs NEWTON Lillian H. (King) Jacobs, 83, of Newtonville died Friday at home. Born in Newton, she lived in New Bedford, and attended city schools. She was a 1934 graduate of St.

Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in New Bedford. She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church, and took part in many parish activities. She also was active in Newton area women's and civic groups. She was the widow of Philip C.
