and and and and and and and and and and Section Two SEYMOUR DAILY TRIBUNE A THE WHOLE NEWSPAPER FAMILY FOR YEAR--NO. 172 INDIANA, THURSDAY, JULY 22, 1976 522-4871 PRICE FIFTEEN CENTS Senior Pioneers Group Formed A group of senior citizens meeting daily at the Seymour Community Center for food, fun and frolic has been organized under "the name "Senior Pioneers." The group boarded the city bus, driven by Dick Lauf, for a picnic at Whippoorwill Lake recently, taking a basket lunch for the noon picnic. Fishing was the featured entertainment, with most of the fishermen catching 'several fish, while others played euchre and other games. Several pictures were taken by Mrs. Dorothy Kinnick.

The group returned to Seymour in the late evening. The Senior Pioneers made plans for turning the Community Center into a hospitality room for the Oktoberfest. The group will also form a choir and will give three performances at the Seymour Girls Club during the V-J Day celebration. The group will also entertain at three performances of "Our Town" in Brownstown during the Watermelon Festival there and will have a kitchen band for three performances at the "Star Spangled Days" on the county fairgrounds. The Brownings' 45th Reunion Held at B'town The Browning family held its 45th reunion Sunday at the Brownstown City Park.

Mrs. Phyllis Ping gave the invocation for the noon meal. James Browning, president, conducted a short business meeting following the fellowship of a bountiful meal. The treasurers report and the minutes of last year were read by the secretary, Mrs. Ping.

Next year the reunion will be held the third Sunday of July at the same place. Janie and Tammy Gardner were in charge of games, passing out many prizes. Those attending were Mr. and. Mrs.

James 0. Lee, of this city, and Silven Vires, son of Mrs. Dovie Vires, of Scottsburg, and the late Green Vires. The marriage was solemnized in a private ceremony on July 10 in Springfield, Tenn. received an associate of science degree in nursing 1973 from Indiana Central College and her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Purdue University in 1975.

She is a nurse at St. Vincent's Hos-pital in Indianapolis. She is a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown. Mr.

Singer, also a 1971 graduate of Brownstown Central High School, attended Hanover College one year and served two years in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Ky. He is a senior at Purdue University, West Lafayette. He is a member of the Christian Church in Salem. received an associate of Shower Fetes Miss Colvin A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Miss Jane Colvin was given Monday eve ning at Jerry's Restaurant by Mrs. Roger Day, Mrs.

Gary Voss, Mrs. Robert Schwartz and Miss Barbara Colvin, all sisters of the bride-to-be. Miss Colvin will be married to Mark Nowling on Aug. 14 in St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

A corsage of club and white 'mums was presented to the bride-to-be. The gift table was laid with a lace cloth and was centered by a bride doll. Bridal games were played, with prizes presented to Miss Susie Flick and Mrs. Pat Flick. Mrs.

Robert Nowling received the hostess favor, a planter of live plants in the center of the refreshment table. Refreshments consisted of a cake decorated in blue and white, ice cream, soft drinks, coffee, mints and nuts. Auxiliary to Eagles Initiates Two new members were initiated into the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles during the regular business meeting held Tuesday evening at the club. Mrs. Greg VonDielingen and Clara Fleetwood were welcomed by the auxiliary members following initiation ceremonies. The meeting was presided over by president, Mrs.

Glen Able. Minutes of the previous meeting and communications were read. Mrs: Able thanked the members for the cooperation which helped to make the recent district meeting a success. Mrs. Bill Miller, chairman of the ways and means committee, announced that the dishcloths which, she had ordered were in and those members wishing to help sell them should contact her for the quantities desired.

A discussion was held regarding the annual picnic which will be held on Aug. 29. The auxiliary will be giving away two afghans which are being donated by Mrs. Greg VonDielingen. Mrs.

Arthur Korte received a door prize and Alice Ivory was presented with a hostess gift. The next meeting of the auxiliary will be on Aug. 3. Present at the meeting were Mrs. Able, Mrs.

A record number of physicians, dentists, nurses and allied health workers is receiving clinical training in VA. facilities. The total of 79,953 trainees in fiscal year 1975 exceeds the 1974 level by 12 per cent, according to Dr. John D. Chase, VA chief medical director.

and Mrs. Malcolm Singer, of Salem, are the bridegroom's parents. Mrs. Bruce: Haddix was organist for the double ring ceremony, and Mr. Haddix was vocalist.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory dacron polyester gown designed by her mother, in floor length. Lace adorned the gown. Matching fabric with applique held the bride's two- layer veil of bridal illusion, falling below the waist. She carried a nosegay of white baby's breath, and baby carnations, tipped with blue, centered by a detachable pink orchid, and a white prayer book with white handkerchief, confirmation gifts. Her silver and diamond necklace was a gift of the bridegroom.

Mrs. William C. Snyder served as her sister-in-law's only attendant, wearing a pink and white floor-length gown of cotton polyester. She carried a single white carnation tipped with blue and baby's breath. William C.

Snyder, brother of the bride, was best man, At the register was Miss Rebecca Sue Snyder, sister of the bride. A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Snyder in Lafayette after the ceremony.

The two-tiered cake was iced in white and adorned with pink and blue roses and topped with a bride and groom. Miss Julia Kay Snyder, sister of the bride, assisted in serving. m. The aisle runner was garnished with clusters of white daisies and leather fern, and the altar was flanked by two 15- branched candelabra. Antique double crystal candelabra in which were entwined white majestic daisies, greenery and fern were also used, along with topiary balls of pink, aqua, lavender and white baby's breath, leather fern and ivy fastened to the aisle pews. Ken List was organist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of polyester nylon satapeau, featuring a high neckline, Empire waist and long sleeves with ruffled cuffs.

The bodice was fashioned of lace trimmed with Venise lace motifs, and a large self bow and lace insert formed the back of the gown. The A-line skirt, falling into a chapel-length train, was trimmed with rows of Venise and ivory lace. The bride's matching headpiece of Venise lace secured her chapel-length mantilla, edged in lace. Mrs. Stephany de Voogdt, sister of the bride, was matronof-honor, and Miss Linda Mowery, of Salina, was bridesmaid.

They wore identical gowns of floral voile in shades of pink, aqua and lavender, featuring a high neckline, long sleeves with ruffle, and flounce.
